Thunderstorms Now Developing Near Tyler…More To Come Next Few Hours…Main Threat Will Be Hail & Frequent Lightning…

***Severe Thunderstorm Watch  for most of East Texas (including Tyler, Longview, Jacksonville & Henderson) until 10 PM.***

KETK Meteorologists believe ALL of East Texas needs to keep an eye to the sky for storm development this afternoon and evening.


REST OF THIS AFTERNOON:  Thunderstorms increasing and moving in from the west. Some storms will contain hail, possibly up to golf ball size, and brief gusty winds. There will also be areas of heavy rain and frequent lightning…Temperatures in the 80s outside of rain areas, but falling to the low 70s in rain areas…Much of East Texas should get 0.25″-0.75″ of rain with some areas getting 1″-2″ of rain….

TONIGHT:  Thunderstorms ending from west to east across the area between  7 PM and 11 PM… then clearing and cooler…….Low near 50….Winds N 10-15 mph.

SATURDAY: Sunny and seasonable with lower humidity…High near 75…Wind NNE 10-15 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT:  Clear and becoming chilly….Low near 45.

SUNDAY:  Sunny and continued beautiful….High a pleasantly warm 77….Winds SE 10 mph.

MONDAY:  Partly sunny, breezy and pleasant…..Low 50,  High 77…Wind S 10-15 mph.

TUESDAY:  Mostly cloudy, windy and warm and more humid…Slight chance (20%) of a brief shower…Temperatures:  Low 60,  High 80…Winds SSE 15 mph.

WEDNESDAY:  Showers and thunderstorms likely (60%)….Windy and warm…Low 64,  High 80…Winds S 20 mph.

THURSDAY:  Cloudy to partly cloudy with  a few lingering showers possible (40%)…Temperatures:  Low 64,  High 76.  Winds South, becoming N 15 mph.
